AI assistant for law firms

An AI assistant for a law firm handles the first point of contact: it explains what the firm does, how the initial consultation works, what documents to bring and how fees are set, using whatever the firm has published. And it books the appointment. What it does not do, by design, is give legal advice or assess a specific case: that is the lawyer's job.

What the first call costs you

The client with an urgent problem calls out of hours

A dismissal, an arrest, a deadline running out. Someone with a legal problem does not wait until Monday: they call the next firm until somebody picks up.

Fee-earner hours spent filtering enquiries that aren't yours

Calls about matters you don't handle or cases outside your remit. Each one takes ten minutes from someone who bills their time.

The same explanation, over and over

How the first consultation works, whether it's free, what papers to bring, how fees are calculated. It's on the website and it still gets explained on the phone every day.

Enquiries that never get recorded

A call handled badly or too late leaves no trace. You don't know how many enquiries came in or in which area, so you don't know which practice area to strengthen.

What it answers, without stepping onto the lawyer's ground

It answers informational and practical questions. As soon as a question calls for legal judgement on a case, it refers the matter to the firm — it does not give an opinion.

Which areas of law do you cover?

Is there a charge for the first consultation?

How do you calculate fees: hourly, per matter or on results?

What documents should I bring to the first meeting?

Do you take cases across Spain or only in this province?

How long does a case like this usually take?

Can you see me over a video call?

Do you work with duty solicitor schemes or legal aid?

Which lawyers work at the firm and what do they specialise in?

Can I book an appointment for this week?

Where the first enquiry comes in

In a law firm the first enquiry arrives by phone or through the website, and often outside office hours. Every channel answers with the same information.

Phone

Takes the call when the firm is closed or in a meeting, notes what the enquiry is about and transfers to your line if needed.

Chat on your website

Answers the questions of someone reading your practice area and deciding whether to get in touch.

WhatsApp

A direct channel for that first contact, with text and voice notes.

Calendar

Offers the firm's real available slots and books the appointment within the conversation.

Frequently asked questions from law firms

Does it give legal advice?

No, and it is configured not to. It explains how the firm works and answers factual questions; assessing a case, interpreting a rule or recommending a strategy is the lawyer's job, and it always refers those on.

What about professional privilege?

The assistant handles the first contact, not the case file. It has no access to your matters or to client documentation beyond what you upload yourself. Whatever the person says in the conversation is stored like any other contact, and you can export it or delete it.

Can it filter whether the case is in my practice area?

Yes. It collects the subject matter and the contact details, and scores each enquiry by level of interest. You see the list and decide who to call first.

Does the client know they are talking to an AI?

Yes, it is disclosed. From August 2026, Article 50 of the European AI Act requires people to be informed that they are interacting with an AI system, and SaviaIA does this as standard.

Can it quote fees?

Only the ones you publish, and with the same caveats you use. If you don't publish rates, it explains how they are calculated and passes the enquiry on for a quote. It never estimates amounts on its own.
